researching on google is fun as well as tiring. by the I am using a plugin called ubersuggest extension. which is free. not selling it over to you. 

As you can see, I wrote gaming youtube channel on google search box. then the stats and graphs .

It show the Seo difficulty for a site to rank in possibly google's first page in future.

It's volume is 8300 visitors per month. which will be growing more in that future. 

Now the idea comes to my mind to follow these channel and make videos on them . but then it will take more of following of these channel.\

So what is the research part then, choose a keyword and elaborate in terms of making a website let me show you.
